HONEY

The video clip I choose to select was from the movie called Honey. This movie was released in 2003 by Universal Pictures. The video clip I have is from the end of the movie. This was my favorite part of the whole movie. I mean the whole movie was good don’t get me wrong but this scene just made it amazing. I love how they are all dancing and putting all the choreography together. They also have different color sweatshirts on so that you can determine what groups they are in. I think that was a clever idea because it made it seem more organized. The place it was held was in a old church, and the whole point of the dance recital was to raise money so Honey could open up her own dance studio. As you look at the faces of the people watching the dance you can see the excitement in their eyes. It just brings a sense of excitement watching this film. Love it!!

This film featured music produced by Rodney Jerkins. The film stars are Jessica Alba, Mekhi Phifer, Lil' Romeo, Joy Bryant , Missy Eilliot and David Moscow. A number of popular hip hop and R&B musicians make appearances in the film, including producer, Rodney Jerkins, Jadakiss, Sheek Louch of The Lox, Tweet, and Ginuwine. Originally the main star was suppose to be Aaliyah but because of her death they had to ask another actress for the position. Jessica Alba was the one picked. I think the director added many details in this scene such as light, expressions of the views and the music. All of these things did well capturing the viewers attention. Especially the song it was very uplifting. All I know is this is one of the best movies ever!!

I Smell Tea!

If I could create a holiday my holiday would be Tea Day. This holiday would be held on December 16th of every year in honor of the Boston Tea Party.
For those of you who don’t know what the Boston Tea Party was an act of a protest by American Colonists against the British Government in which they destroyed many crates of tea belonging to the British East India Company on ships in the Boston Harbor. The incident, took place on Thursday, December 16, 1773. This event has been seen as the spark to the American Revolution. The whole reason why the Americans acted out was because the British wanted to tax the Tea and they weren’t having it.
On this day every restaurant and coffee place would hold a high tea ceremony through out the day. They would serve all types of tea for free throughout the day. But especially at 5 it would be served to the worker (miner, laborer or whatever) who comes in from work. The tea will also be served with a hot meal, such as sausage and chips, followed by bread, butter and jam, and cakes.
Everyone who chooses to participate in this holiday in a public place such as a restaurant or a cafĂ© place must dress up as American colonists of 1900’s. If you do not you will not get the benefit of free tea.
The whole purpose of this holiday is to bring the family together in a comfortable place. Sit around the table and drink tea. I believe it will give a sense of warmth and love and maybe a fresh start to prepare for the holiday of Christmas coming up. What’s not better to receive free tea and sit around with family dressed up as American Colonists!

Eliminating Poverty

If I could make a law my law would to be take care of this country first and to have no poverty. Under this law many things would change not just one. I would make it so that minimum wage was actually changed into a living wage. So that people would not have to worry about struggling. I would make it so that everyone could live comfortably. I know there would still be differences in classes but at least there would be no lower income class. I would create more programs for children after school so that they wouldn’t have to come home to an empty house. I would also make car dealer ships have certain cars for sale for an affordable price. So people who live in areas were its hard to find transportation will have a reliable way of getting around. I would also create more affordable housing under this no poverty law. These homes would be nice and have expectations to keep them that way. The inner city schools would get more funding so the outcome of kids graduating and becoming more successful in life would be higher. I believe Americans deserve a chance at a nice life. By creating this law hopefully that goal would be accomplished.

My animal is Mimu. She’s a monkey that cares for everyone when she senses that they’re down. She was born on Jan 12, 1989. She currently lives at an animal caring zoo by my house. She has light brown eyes, and light brown fur. She’s about four feet tall and weighs about 75 pounds. She’s a very happy monkey that likes to give you hugs. A lot of hugs! Mimu eats fruits, leaves, flowers, insects, and eggs. She likes to eat a lot so you have to feed her continuously. When Mimu is around there is always a smile on my face. She’s such a cute and caring monkey.
I can’t say enough good things about Mimu she’s very active monkey, who is always on the move to find someone who’s feeling down.
You’re probably wondering when I see Mimu. Well I see Mimu all the time the animal caring zoo. She also visits the animal shelter to comfort all the animals there. It seems to help because the animals like her, and usually behave pretty well after she leaves. If you ask me Mimu is a miracle monkey!

Very Peaceful and Pretty

Being in San Diego is one of the best spots in town that you could be at. Not only is the weather nice but the view is gorgeous. This picture was taken on the deck of a dorm at the University of San Diego. When I was there I really didn’t want to leave. The air smelled of fresh leaves and pine trees. It was so quiet and peaceful, you could hear birds and different creatures making there different sounds. The view was amazing. You could see for miles and miles and never get tired of looking for something different. The scenery right in front of you was even prettier then most places I had been that day. As you can see the trees leaves are purple. The purple trees were surrounded by different types of green trees. This made it all the more interesting. In Minnesota you hardly ever see trees with purple leaves like this unless its fall and still it’s very rare. This view made me happy and I wanted to experience more of San Diego because of this one view. Imagine waking up everyday to this view. Wouldn’t that be great? I know I would love it. This is one of the many reasons why I am applying for the University of San Diego in the fall!

Wow I'm amazed!

Wow I was just browsing the internet when I came across this fine site called Mariah Hero.com. It is a fan site that displays information about my life and my career. Most sites I come across I pay no attention to. But this one struck my eye because the first thing I saw was that the background was purple, and that is my favorite color. So I started reading the site and to my amazement almost every detail was factual.
It sort of made me sad reading about my biography, because that was a really hard time in my life, that I really don’t like to talk about much. It was really hard for me growing up with my parents so culturally and racially different. There were days I thought I would never make it through. But I learned from my dad and my mom that no matter the situation never give up.
So to see this site so accurate was great.
It made me smile when they mentioned Morgan and Alison. These are my siblings that most of the world no nothing about so it was nice for them to have recognition of some sort. Another thing I like were the pictures from all my different albums. It gives a better story when you can actually put a face to it. I was really pleased with this site. I wish others were like it! Here's the site go and check it out! http://www.mariahhero.com/biography.htm

# 1 Reflection

Panda Bears are very cute animals to me. This is why they are my favorite animal. For those of you who don’t know much about Panda Bears here’s a chance for you to learn more! Their Height for males and females is 29.5 inches at shoulders and 5 ft in length (with a 6 inch tail). They weigh around 250 lbs were as the females weigh around 220 lbs. Their lifespan is from 20 to 30 years. They like to eat a lot! Which I'm sure you all do as well. They eat staples bamboo, flowers, vines, tufted grasses, green corn, honey and rodents. They look very soft and cuddly but can become very mean. So if you see a Panda Bear your best bet is to stay your distance away!

Many of you probably have a favorite animal. Mine has been very apparent all my life, because my room is a panda bear theme. This is why I chose the picture above. Not only did I choose it because it's a Panda bear but it also shows character. I like how the Panda's image is reflected off the water. To me it seems so much more complex then just a normal picture of a Panda. It seems as if the Panda is trying to figure out who it is looking at them. As we as Americans do everyday. Try and figure out who we are and why. I like panda bears because they are so pretty and they look so innocent. If I could have any animal in the world the Panda would defiantly be my first choice. Sadly Panda Bears are endangered but maybe one day they will not be. If you could have any animal in the world what would you choose and why?
